Glory to God in the highest and peace to God’s people on earth. Luke 2:14.

Christmas Greetings!

Friends, at this time last year, southwestern Pennsylvania had several snow falls and snow was falling as I wrote the Christmas message. Well, things are different this year. We are experiencing the warmest weather we’ve had in a long time and have even broken records set back in the early 1900s. It is 67 º on December 14! But, all good things must end and soon we’ll have snow and cold.

This is a season of joy! Celebration! Excitement!

With all that has happened around the world and in our home country, it seems hard to think about celebrating.

I am sure that throughout history, there have been many times when the joy of Christmas seems so far away. Elusive. But we must remember, in order for the Babe to be born in Bethlehem, Mary and Joseph had to enter the town of Joseph’s family by walking past Roman soldiers who were carrying out orders from Caesar Augusta.

Remember that peace may begin with one person smiling to another and offering a sign of peace. May your Christmas be a wonderful one full of blessings and full of love! May we all walk into the New Year with a resolve to “let peace begin with me!”

Blessings and peace,
Rennie
