Angie Palmer leads our organization with over 14 years of experience having served in many capacities for the Presbytery of Central Nebraska as the Presbytery administrator, the Assistant to the Stated Clerk, BOP Pension Liaison, and currently serves on her local session.   

Palmer holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration with an Emphasis in Human Resource Management, a Concentration in Biology and a 7-12th Certificate in Education.  

Angie has been a member of APA since 2002 and has completed all three levels of certification as well as an additional 150 hours of course study.  Having become a certified mediator and earning a certificate of completion through the Omaha Presbyterian Seminary Foundation and the University of Nebraska at Omaha School of Public Administration for the Church Administrative Institute, Angie has prepared herself well for this role.  Angie is married to Cory and lives with her family, which includes four children, on a working cattle ranch.  She is a fourth generation Presbyterian and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Broken Bow.



Bobbi has worked for the Presbytery of Plains and Peaks for the past 17 years (started July 1999). She started working as an Administrative Assistant and her titled changed to Office Administrator in 2005. Over the years, she has added more duties to her job description, including but not limited to bookkeeping; Recording Clerk for Council and COM; office support for Council, COM, and Nominating.

In 2012 she started working part time as the Office Support/Bookkeeper for the Synod of the Rocky Mountains. She currently does bookkeeping; directory; and any office support that may be needed by the Stated Clerk and/or Treasurer.

She has been a member of APA for the 17 years that she has worked for the Presbytery. During this time she has prepared newsletters for the Rocky Mountain Region; planned the 2007 regional conference and helped plan the 2010 regional conference; co-chaired the planning team for the 2008 national conference; served as the regional certification chair for eight years which included serving on the national Certification Council; served as the regional President-Elect for two years; and just finished serving as the regional President which included being on the National Council and National Nominating Committee.

Bobbi has been married for 17 years and has two children – a daughter, age 14 and a son, age 10. The family currently resides in Grover, Colorado.



Rennie is a native Pennsylvanian. She has a B.A. in Elementary Education, is a certified pet groomer, has completed Levels I, II, III and ACE in the Administrative Personnel Association’s Certification program and has been a member since 1997.

Rhodes lived in Reno, Nevada for 11 years and was the Church Administrator at St. John’s Presbyterian Church for nine years.

Rennie has been the Director of Children’s Ministries at Cross Roads Presbyterian Church in Monroeville, PA since October 2007.  When she delivered her first Children’s Message, there were twelve children present. The following Easter morning, she had 42 children joining her! VBS 2008 had 92 children in attendance. Last year’s VBS program had 167 children attending!

Rennie has been a member of the Association of Presbyterian Church Educators since 2007 and has completed three classes in the Association of Presbyterian Christian Education Certification program. 

Rennie has recently self-published a children’s book titled “Easter Morning,” and has been a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church since November, 2008.

Melissa has been the Presbytery of Florida’s administrative assistant/administrator since July 2009 and an APA member since 2010, serving as the former Florida Region’s certification chair. As a Baptist, she has found APA’s courses covering Presbyterian Polity, Theology and Church History particularly helpful in her work.

Her prior professional background includes experience as journalist/communication specialist for an electric utility and as a news writer. She is an Auburn University alumna with a B. A. in Communication.

She is an Elba, Alabama, native who has lived in northwest Florida since 1994. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors.

Annette Houtz has been a member of APA since 2002.  A native from the Pennsylvania Dutch country she moved to the Atlanta area over 30 years ago.  Annette has been employed in the Presbyterian church for almost 20 years; the last 14 years serving as Office Manager at Lawrenceville Presbyterian Church.  After receiving APA Certification in Levels I, II, and III she continues to work towards a Certificate in Polity and a Certificate in Finance.

Annette Houtz has served as the National Membership Chair since 2014 and is interested in assisting anyone with questions regarding their membership in APA.  She is an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Lawrenceville where she serves on the Staff Parish Relations Committee and is also on the Discipleship Team.

Annette is married to David who accompanies her to many of the APA conferences.  The rest of her family includes her daughter, Brittany and son-in-law, Will and her grandchildren, Nola, Shepard and Mavis.

René is the administrative assistant for the Presbytery of New Hope in Raleigh. She began her work for the presbytery in June, 1989 and has been a member of APA since 1991.  She is certified in Levels I, II, and III and is currently working on her 50 hours of continuing education.

René has served APA at the regional level as secretary, president-elect, president, and past-president for the Mid-Atlantic Region. She brings with her over 27 plus years of administrative experience, including being editor of the weekly office newsletter, maintaining the presbytery database, use of Constant Contact to create event emails to distribute to members of the presbytery for online notifications and registrations, and detailed knowledge of Microsoft Word, Access, Excel, and Publisher. René also coordinates meeting locations, times, dates, and details for the Healthy Boundaries Training Program, the New Ministers/Educators Orientation, the annual  Outstanding Older Adult Award Recognition Service as well as other events and programs.

René has one son, Steven Baker, a grandson, Raylin Baker, and two dogs, Dakota and Sophie. She currently resides in Raleigh, NC.



Rose Miller joined APA in 2007 and completed Level I and Level II in November 2011 and completed Level II in August 2014 and is currently working on her first 50 hours of continuing education. Rose has held the office of Treasurer for Rocky Mountain Region since November 2011. In addition she has coordinated the fund raising for her region the last several years.

Rose has a Bachelor of Science degree in Office Administration and Business Administration. She became Office Administrator at First Presbyterian Church of Kearney, Nebraska in October 2006 where she has been a member since 1983. Several congregation members encouraged Rose to take this position when it was open many times in the past 20 years but didn’t feel the call back then.

Miller also works at H & R Block during the tax season with this being her 26th year doing various positions from data entry, tax return processing, client tax preparation, quality-control checking, and customer service professional. Rose’s experience has made her a very detail-oriented person. Her strengths include accuracy, organization, and accountability. A major project that Rose completed was bringing the official Church Register book up-to-date which had not been done by previous office personnel for 8 years. Miller’s classes through APA have strengthened her weaknesses of dealing with difficult people and communication. Networking with other APA members has added valuable assets to Rose’s professional approach in performing her duties.

Rose grew up Catholic but never felt comfortable with being told what to believe or unable to be involved as a female. The Presbyterian Church allows her to have a voice and participate in the committees and governing bodies. Rose served as a Ruling Elder (2002-2004), Deacon (1995-1997), member and moderator of the Property and Grounds Committee (2000-2005), and kitchen/meal coordinator for Wednesday Night Live program for 15 years. Additionally, Rose is involved in a Women’s Bible Study Group and staff resource member on the Finance Committee.

Rose was born in Nebraska and grew up in Southwestern Nebraska on a farm. Rose and her husband have been married for 33 years and have 2 grown children.  Her son Michael and wife Katie live in Louisville, Kentucky where Michael is attending Southern Baptist Seminary. Her daughter Amanda lives in Lincoln, Nebraska currently working at Hy-Vee and Hobby Lobby and is considering graduate school in microbiology having graduated with a Pre-Vet degree. Rose’s spare time activities include quilting/sewing, caring for her cats (Miss Louie and Mister Herbie which she has trained to use the toilet), gardening, cooking/baking, and camping.
